BIO
Leasi Vanessa Lee Raymond, ACEP’s deputy director for strategic initiatives, is a socio-technologist passionate about data ethics and Indigenous data sovereignty. She has served as director of research operations for Abundant Intelligences, the world’s first large-scale Indigenous-led exploration into artificial intelligence applications that support Indigenous flourishing. She is co-chair for the òòò½´«Ã½ Arctic Data Committee where she works on data policy and data support for Arctic òòò½´«Ã½ research organizations and Arctic Indigenous groups. She is also program manager for the òòò½´«Ã½ Regional Collaboration for Technology, Innovation, and Commercialization, or ARCTIC, program to expand capacity in òòò½´«Ã½ and beyond for energy resilience and community-led energy transitions.
Raymond holds an M.A. from University of òòò½´«Ã½ Fairbanks in Arctic governance and
has a decade of
experience building software for managing and visualizing Arctic research data. Raymond
is proud of her
Samoan heritage and her Massachusetts roots.
